Over the past years I've formed a strong vision on how I want to contribute to this world as a designer and person overall.
As an industrial designer, I want to use my technical and creative skills to improve the quality of life for people with physical or mental limitations. My passion lies at the intersection of healthcare, innovation, and technology. I believe that well-designed tools can empower people to live more independently, with dignity and happiness.
In five to ten years, I see myself working in a multidisciplinary team alongside professionals who, like me, are driven to create thoughtful, sustainable, and human-centered solutions. While I dream of starting my own business, I also realize that my true passion lies in the design process itself and in collaborating on meaningful innovations. I'm therefore looking for a balance between entrepreneurship and hands-on design work.
What currently motivates me most is the realization that there’s a significant shortage of passionate, technically skilled designers in the healthcare sector. I want to help fill that gap. I believe that designing for healthcare isn't just about functionality, it’s also about empathy, sustainability, and collaboration. I aim to create products that are beneficial not only for people, but also for the planet.

Another important experience during my studies was participating in the TU/e Contest with a personal project: designing an adaptive drinking cup for my sister. Throughout the competition, I learned how to present myself as a professional, pitch ideas to companies, and communicate the value of a product to different audiences. Reaching the final and presenting on stage in the Blauwe Zaal was initially intimidating, but it became one of the most rewarding experiences of my studies.
TU/e contest final
The contest helped me discover a passion for storytelling. I enjoy finding the most effective way to communicate an idea, not only by explaining what a product does, but also by sharing the story and motivation behind it. Through my personal connection to the project, I learned that a meaningful story can help people understand and connect with a design on a deeper level.
At the same time, I was following the Design Innovation Methods course, which introduced me to the entrepreneurial and business side of design. Together, these experiences gave me valuable insights into product development, innovation, and starting a business. They also helped me realize which skills I still want to develop before pursuing my long-term ambition of creating my own company.
My vision is to bridge the gap between technology and humanity through design and to make a real difference where it truly matters.
Personal Goals
As I start my professional career, my primary goal is to continue developing myself as a designer by gaining practical experience in product development and manufacturing. I would like to work in a company with in-house production, where I can better understand how products move from concept to reality and learn how design decisions influence manufacturing, assembly, and scalability.
I am particularly interested in working within multidisciplinary teams. Throughout my studies, I discovered that I learn most when collaborating with people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise. Whether it is engineers, healthcare professionals, production specialists, marketers, or business developers, I enjoy combining different perspectives to create better solutions. Over the past year, I have also worked on becoming more proactive in seeking feedback, asking for help when needed, and contributing confidently within a team environment.
I thrive in environments where multiple projects are running simultaneously. While I enjoy thoroughly exploring complex challenges, I also appreciate variety and the opportunity to work on different products and problems at the same time. The combination of creativity, technical development, and collaboration keeps me motivated and continuously learning.
Alongside my professional career, I would like to gradually build my own business. My ambition is not to immediately become a full-time entrepreneur, but to start on a small scale by developing products for people with disabilities, inspired by the experiences of my sister and our family. Through these projects, I hope to explore how specialised assistive solutions can be translated into products that are valuable for a broader consumer market.
In the coming years, I also want to expand my knowledge beyond design and engineering. I am increasingly interested in the commercial side of product development, including business strategy, sales, and market introduction. Understanding not only how to create a product, but also how to successfully bring it to market, is an important step toward my long-term ambition of running my own company.
